Woman Up

Sep 17, 2021 | Lifestyle

Hey girl,

You are a woman created in the image of a loving Father, and it is in your nature to bear His unique features. Yes. Think of every beautiful thing God has and can give – love, joy, fulfillment, wealth, health and emotional wellbeing. Take your time to write down a long list of them – you were naturally wired to have these things too.

Well, you may not have heard this before, but you were specially handcrafted from the very DNA of a Sovereign God. I promise you were packed full of wonders and world-changing potential.

But here’s my question: should you live below this nature? Should you exist in a realm that is a far cry from the potential vested in you? Should you ever be caught exhibiting attributes that are not worthy of who your Father is (check your list in case you forgot)?

The answer is no.

But do you see yourself falling short of the epic woman you were created to be?

In relating with others, do you often forget that you were created a virtuous woman, a living wonder and a beauty to be gazed upon?

When your emotions skyrocket, does it sometimes elude your consciousness that you are a co-creator, a co-builder with God?

Or maybe you’re simply not tapping sufficiently from the wealth of potential embedded in you?

Yes? Some times?

It’s okay to admit you’re not living up to your endowment. But it’s not okay to stay that way. You need to woman up and put the powerhouse God wired into you on full display – for the world to see and glorify Him!

This might sound like a hard saying to you because you need first to grasp what this woman is all about. You need to meet the woman you were born to become, the superwoman whose worth in gold would gross into multiple digits.

What are you waiting for? Let’s meet her!

Virtuous, Worth More Than 10 Nations

Don’t you believe it? Check out how God describes the REAL YOU in Proverbs 31:10 MSG:

A good woman is hard to find and worth far more than diamonds.

Of course, you know her worth doesn’t come from her financial (academic, marital) net worth, but the very DNA of God in her. She knows that ten nations cannot be compared to her worth because God’s nature cannot be ordered from Amazon! And yes, you don’t get to stumble upon her on the streets telling idle tales.

So what does she do with her worth?

She’s In Charge of Her Emotions

And that’s why …her husband trusts her without reserve and never has reason to regret it…(Proverb 31:11 MSG).

With the assurance of whose image she bears, a virtuous woman never lets her emotions get the best of her – she’s always in charge.

The lie that women are more emotional than coherent has led many women into unnecessary emotional affliction. Many are hard-bent on expressing how they feel – regardless of how these expressions affect others – that they forget that the nature of God in them should transform their emotions.

But a woman of virtue has her emotions in check. She doesn’t throw emotional tantrums. She’s not into emotional blackmailing. And she’s never going to react in a way that hurts another child of God unnecessarily. This is why her husband, and everyone else, trust her and have no reason to regret their decision.

She is Strength Personified

First thing in the morning, she dresses for work, rolls up her sleeves, eager to get started. Proverbs 31:17 MSG.

Yes, girl, the ORIGINAL you are clothed in strength – on all sides.

Her spiritual strength exceeds the intensity of troubles humans face every day. In every situation, she remembers her Source, leans on His heart, and speaks His will into every facet of her life.

She’s physically conscious of her health and knows that she must be a responsible custodian of her body. She works out, eats a healthy, balanced diet, and is mindful of what goes in her mouth.

She understands financial principles (Proverbs 31:18 – 24) and sows and reaps in and out of season. She knows money is servant to her, but she rises early to invest and bring in bountiful returns.

She Looks After Her Own

She keeps an eye on everyone in her household and keeps them all busy and productive. Proverbs 31:27 MSG.

She doesn’t stop at giving those around her food and clothing (Proverbs 31:15 and 20). She keeps them busy about their purpose! And of course, she can only do this because she has discovered and has dwelt in a completely blown revelation of her purpose.

She’s also sensitive to the needs of others (Proverbs 31:20) to meet them accordingly. So, she’s not self-centered!

She Is Wise

When she speaks, she has something worthwhile to say, and she always says it kindly. Proverbs 31:26 MSG.

How can you be in God’s image and not be wise?

Phew! Not possible. Read up She’s a Wise Chic to know how inexhaustible the wisdom in you is.

She Knows She Needs to Woman Up

Yes. The REAL you must decide to rise to your higher calling.

Proverbs may not have mentioned this, but 1Peter 2:9 MSG sure does highlight it:

But you are the ones chosen by God, chosen for the high calling of priestly work, chosen to be a holy people, God’s instrument to do His work and speak out for Him…

You were created to be a BIG DEAL and a FIRST-CLASS woman on a high calling! You just need to WOMAN UP.
