Your Goals Need Consistency
Hey girl, why do you look so tired and overwhelmed?
Why do your goals seem like they’re unattainable?
Why does it look like you never have enough energy to complete the things you set in motion?
Why do you find it hard to stay on course, even after you’ve ensured that your goals are specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and time-bound?
Why do you find it impossible to remain fervent in spirit, serving the Lord?
Consistency!
You set goals and begin a very beautiful and transformational journey, but you never make it to the finish line. You’re simply failing at consistency! And do you know what happens to people who cannot stay consistent? They never get around to achieving significant feats in their lives! But not to worry, sweetheart, below are proven tips to help you realize your goals, or whatever it is you set your beautiful heart to do.
Tips for Consistency
Establish a Morning and Night Routine
Yes!
Following a specified line of action when you wake in the morning and right before bedtime is a good way to learn consistency. To achieve the best results, see that you include activities relevant to the most important goals in your life. For example, let’s say you aim to be a better Christian, to grow your relationship with God. An excellent way to stay consistent in that pursuit is to have alone time with God in the mornings and evenings. If you want to stay fit, you can include a few minutes of workouts in your morning schedule. It would become a lot easier to master the rest of the day and what you do with it by mastering your mornings and nights.
Use a Workable Schedule
This sounds like a cliché, but calendaring does a whole lot of good in helping you stay consistent in your pursuits. Here’s why. You are multi-faceted, and you’d always be saddled with responsibilities from each facet of your life. Some of these responsibilities must be met regularly, and others cannot even be negotiated. Hence, to ensure that you consistently pay adequate attention to the ‘important’ aspect of your life, you’d need to allocate time for each of them.
Always use a calendaring system and daily to-do lists that help you crush your goals and stay consistent at them. Most importantly, ensure that the items you place on your daily list truly agree with who you are, so you’re not overwhelmed in your journey to stay consistent.
Give Yourself to Your Activities
To stay consistent with your goals, you must find joy in the process. And to find this joy, you need to focus on the process, not just the outcome. Turn your attention to the small steps you need to take to arrive at your destination, and you’ll be there even before you realize it.
Do It Even When You Do Not Feel Like
Hey beautiful, can I tell you a simple truth?
You will not always be in the mood to crush your goals. Sometimes, everything within you may protest against your taking those actions consistently. And that doesn’t make you a bad or lazy female. You only become lazy in your pursuit of your goals when you sit back and do nothing the moment you do not feel like it. You’ve got to revisit your reason for that goal and let it propel you into action – even when your body just wants to take a sweet nap.
Anticipate the Dip
Things may not always yield the results you anticipated when you anticipated them. True beauty is when you never give up, even in the face of challenges and obstacles. Your goal needs to be accomplished, girl, so brace yourself to leap over those hurdles to reach your goals!
Stay Accountable
Obviously, you’re a mature adult, and sometimes, you feel you can handle life all by yourself. But hey, you could just do better at your goals when you have someone else nudging you on, ensuring you stay at it.
This person could be your friend, spouse, spiritual leader, and even the Holy Spirit. Someone genuinely interested in your progress and would unapologetically alert you whenever you go off track.
I can’t wait to see you executing like the masterpiece God created you to be!!
